TelExpress Inc. was founded in 1992 by Dana and Stan Clinard. The primary product sold, was a refurbished 819A1 repeater housing. The 819A1 was sold into the Regional Bell Operating Companies. It is a repeater housing that repeats the telephone signal every 3000 feet. They are located at the base of telephone poles, having a 30 foot stub that ran up the telephone pole and was spliced into existing line. When they were removed, the stub was cut at the base. TelExpress would purchase the out of service units and perform a step by step process of splicing in a new stub for a water tight environment. These housings were repainted for a like new appearance complete with new hardware.

In 1995, with the demand increase for dial tone due to explosive use of fax machines and dial up internet, TelExpress expanded into the refurbishment of D4, SLC96, and Series 5 bays for the central office environment. This rack and stack program consisted of three different size bays, 7’, 9’, and 11’6”.

In 1998, focus shifted on diversification of product lines in the refurbished marketplace. Expanded product lines in D4, M13 Mux, CSU/DSU, DSX panels, DSX modules created a distribution atmosphere with logistic solutions.

At the turn of the century, TelExpress had captured market share in OC1, OC3, OC12, OC192 sonet products and continued its distribution portfolio. Over the next decade, TelExpress has added new equipment product lines from over 250 manufacturers. With multiple warehouses and state of the art distribution and logistics services, TelExpress is a leader in distribution of new and refurbished telecom equipment.

This “Y” cable can route a single optical signal onto two different fibers or connect two optical devices to a single fiber span. The Y-cable is bi-directional and can be used in either the Transmit (Tx) or Receive (Rx) direction, at either end of a fiberspan, depending on the function it is to provide. It splits into two legs at the center of the assembly with a fusion splitter.  The common end can be any type connector.
